Another Night at the Algonquin Roundtable

Lois: Trash pick-up is a day late this week because of the holiday.

Husband: What holiday?

Lois: Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Husband: Asshole.

Lois: That's not very nice, because...um, Martin Luther King died for our sins, you know.

Husband: Exactly. And that has nothing to do with garbage.

::cat walks into room::

Cat: Meow! Meow!

Lois: Oh crap. I still have to feed you guys too.

Cat: Meow!

Lois: Asshole.

HA!

I have no idea when my back-up trash day is. In most places, it's usually just a day later than usual due to holidays. Yet, two elderly neighbors have completely confused me with two different stories. As far as I can tell, due to MLK Jr. Day, my trash will not be picked up until April. This might be some hazing ritual for new neighbors under 80.
