Childhood Flashback
Sometimes my job is kinda cool. I just got off the phone from interviewing one of the Lennon Sisters' brothers.
Anyone else spend Saturday nights when they were a kid watching "The Lawrence Welk Show" with their parents and/or grandparents?

Thankfully, no. I didn't know Lawrence Welk until I was in college, and said what is this crap.... er I mean,... this wholesome goodness?
If it's on during the weekend and I'm surfing channels, I'll leave it on long enough to irritate the missus and have a laugh.
Lois is just fishing to find out all our ages...pshaw!
(I, too, was Welked!)
Oh, yesssssss.
In the words of the Chamber Bros (kinda): I been WelkeDELicized!
And, speaking of bros. The Lennon Sisters' BROTHER? What was his story? Was he bitter? Did he yearn to don a pastel chiffon gown and join the act? Did he spill all to you (the catfights, the bullimia, the pilfering of the champagne lady's hooch)?
Actually, he was a really cool guy and was pretty much as bemused by Welkamania as we are. He's now the marketing manager of the visitor's bureau of Branson, MO (which is why I was interviewing him) and used to perform with his sisters.
He referred to Welk as being like his "fairy godfather."
Wunderful, wunderful!
HA! I love it!
You are now in a position to know the answers to these questions:
1) Should I go to Branson?
2) Why should I go to Branson?
3) Once in Branson, will I--much like the Hotel California--be able to "check out but never leave"?
I'm a HUGE fan of The Lennon Sisters brothers.
Mom always liked Tommy best.
Sparkle:
1. Yes!
2. They not only have the Yakov Smirnoff Theater but the world's largest Titanic museum. Go, go now and experience the iceberginess of it all!
3. You will be able to leave, if you're willing to sell (a) your soul or (b) a kidney.
