Good Cake? Affirmative!
Since my birthday and the husband's are so close together, we traditionally have one cake for the two of us. And I traditionally bake it, since he doesn't cook.
This year, I made my first attempt at using fondant (yes, yes, I've been watching too much "Ace of Cakes") in preparation for making a Batmobile cake for Dan-El later in the month.
I made a K-9 cake as a sequel to last year's TARDIS cake. I'm kinda pleased with how it came out.
Shortly after these pictures were taken, Dan-El peeled off K-9's nose and ate it. Poor K-9.

I *have* seriously thought about this. I think it will be a variation on the one from "The Batman" cartoon -- my kids have a couple of toys modeled on that one and its the one they know best.
It will also be fairly easy to do...not that I have to be too accurate, of course. Hey, the kid's gonna be 3. If its a black car with a yellow bat on it, he'll be happy. :-)
If I was doing it for me, I'd go with the 60's TV show version.

That's AWESOME! I have a friend who can't stand K9 (I know...he might be borderline retahded) and I'm very tempted to make this cake for his birthday. He would kill me but it would be worth it.
Especially if I could embed a little voice box in it...heh.

Oh, thanks! Other than using it as an excuse to have cake, the hubby and I kinda ignore our birthdays, to be honest. :-)

Yeah, I just use mine as an excuse to eat too much dessert, go out to one of my favourite restaurants, that kinda thing. Though last year it came in handy for justifying buying a new cell phone. ::wink::
