Geek Alert

If you're like me, you wish you were at the Geek Prom this week, a.k.a. Comic-Con in San Diego.

The cable channel G4 is running a 2 block of coverage from the con tonight (Friday) at 8 p.m. They'll be rerunning it several times over the weekend as well.

And now back to your regularly scheduled programming.

I had an opportunity to go to Geek Prom in my "real life" (non-dayjob) but just couldn't manage it.

I'm not bitter that everyone is off having fun and I'm here. Not bitter at all.

I went to the Geek Prom once and it was a glorious thing. Geeks as far as the eye can see, roaming free and unfettered by the constraints of the "normal world."

In a few years, when Jak-El and Dan-El are full fledged Junior Geeks, we'll go again. Tonight, we'll be geeks at home. After all, it's Sci-Friday!

Demented and sad, but social.

"Geek Prom" is an okay nickname, but I rather like the designation "Nerdstock."

And I speak as a proud nerd myself, although I am NOT going to quote Robert Carradine here.
