Good Parenting 101
(my living room, 6:15 a.m.)
Dan-El: Dora!
Lois: In a bit sweetie. Mommy just wants to watch the news and catch the weather.
Dan-El: Dora!
Lois: It's a little early for Dora.
Dan-El: Dora!
Lois: In a few minutes, okay?
Dan-El: Read books?
::Lois thinks for a minute::
Lois: Dora?
Dan-El: Dora!
::Dan-El stands a 1/2 inch from the TV screen to absorb the restorative cathode rays, Lois falls asleep on couch::
10 Comments:
I'm surprised, boys like Dora? I would have fancied Dan-El as more of a Diego kid.
Backpack! Backpack!
Oh, he's completely obsessed with Diego. We even went to see "Go Diego Go Live!" a few weeks ago. It was thrilling, to say the least.
But in the past week he's been getting into Dora for some reason, and now alternates between the two.
Lois:
Cathode rays are an excellent source of Vitamin D*, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
-- Lamont "Pauling" Cranston
*That's Vitamin D as in "Dora." But sitting too close to the television will also cause one to have an unhealthy attachment to funnybooks.
Why shouldn't a little boy like a little girl he sees on TV? I liked girls when I was a little boy. Never stopped. Well... that is... as I got older, the girls that I liked got older, too... What I mean is... Never mind.
Hey, since my profile caption says "Child of the Cathode Ray Tube," does that mean we're related, or something?
Cut me some slack, I'm freakin' tired.
I always preferred boys while growing up.
Hasn't changed, either.
*goes off to find a boy to play with...I mean...err...*
p.s.
Lois, you've really gotta be one of the most wonderful moms ever.
Lois: Cake's right. Am I too old for you to consider adopting me?
LAMONT!
That isn't true.
::turns around, looks at 30 long boxes of comics::
Um...never mind.
CAKE!
Oh yeah, I'm a great mom. The secret? Gin.
DAVID!
I don't see why not. I'll adopt you, as soon as Jayne's adoption of me is finalized.
Lois: Hm. You as my mom, Jayne as my grandma? I could definitely like this. Let me know when everything's ready to be signed.
But in the meantime? Hide me! Cake's been chasing me from comments section to comments section...
Ah HAH! Thought you could hide here, eh? *pelts David'z with cookies, makes a run for it*
p.s.
Lois: Wait! You're adopting people!? Pick me, pick me!
Lois, please don't adopt her. Can you imagine Cake and myself living under your roof? [starts toward Cake to chase her away, looks down at cookies on floor, stops to eat cookies instead]
